Much has changed over the years in firefighting but some things have remained the same and will remain that way. One of those is the amount of damage that and disruption to our lives that a fire causes. In these photos from 20 July 1973 of a house fire in Norwich, the amount of damage caused can be clearly seen. The fire which started in the living room has spread through the house as can be seen from damage to the stairs.
Please take time to think. In most houses the stairs are the primary escape route from the upper floor(s). To protect this escape route, and so protect you and your family, close doors at night when going to bed. Make a fire plan.
