About Us

The Norfolk Fire Museum grew out of the old Norfolk Fire Service Historical and Preservation Society and still has very close links with Norfolk Fire & Rescue Service. It is though, a charity and all work is carried out by volunteers. The basis of the collection at present is Local Authority Fire Brigades. This is now being extended to celebrate all fire fighting in Norfolk and we would appreciate receiving any artifacts or information relating to RAF, MOD or Works Fire Brigades that operated in Norfolk.

We became a fully registered charity on 7th February 2019. Our Charity Commission  Registration No. 1181921

How To See Us

Although the Norfolk Fire Museum does not have a permanent display building at the moment we do currently have a pop up museum in Great Yarmouth with a number of our exhibits and some friendly volunteers to show you around. Finally we also have a Touring Museum that can attend  your event or school, please contact us to find out more about this. Part of our touring museum can often be seen at our friends at Bressingham Steam and Gardens during events and school holidays, come say hello.

How To Support Us

We are always on the lookout for donations of Norfolk firefighting memorabilia and stories as well as funding donations to help finance our work. If you see us out and about at events with our vehicles and equipment please pop by and say hello. As we have no permanent home at present its lovely to see an interest in what we do, you may even learn something new! Our pop up museum in Great Yarmouth has a great display, we won't spoil it for you, pop by. We are also always on the lookout for willing volunteers no matter what your knowledge.
